Martin Frank, NBA and 76ers writer for the Delaware News Journal, has reported that Louis Williams will be out for the foreseeable future, via twitter. Williams has been diagnosed with a strained hamstring and will likely be day-to-day.
In last night’s game at the Bradley Center against the Milwaukee Bucks,Williams left the game with tightness in his hamstring and didn’t return. Today, he still seems to be in some pain.
Williams thrives on his speed, and uses it to his advantage to get to the hoop. In a recent pole on prosportsdaily.com, the Philadelphia 76ers forum held a pole, which asked who the fastest player on the 76ers is. Williams leads by a wide margin.
The Sixth Man of the Year candidate’s status for Tuesday against the Boston Celtics is unknown, but when asked how he was feeling on Twitter, Williams’ answer could be a cause for concern.
When asked, “how’s the hammy,” Williams responded with, “@goforitgant not very good today. Lol”
Although he’s laughing out loud, Sixers fans are not. Williams is a key factor if the Sixers wish to shock any top-4 seed’s hopes of advancing past the first round. His scoring ability and frequent trips to the foul line are second to few.
In one of his latest tweets, Williams said that he’s getting treatment on the leg, accompanied by Thaddeus Young.
