A Look Back; The Fall and Rise of Ohio State’s Evan Turner

Recently, it has been difficult for Philadelphia 76ers fans to take away anything positive from former Ohio State star, Evan Turner. As stated in a previous article, “It’s 10 O’clock. Do You Know Where Your Evan Turner Is,” Turner has evaporated from the scene in the city of brotherly love.

Can we please understand something, though? Evan Turner is a talented basketball player. After winning what seems like almost every award possible, previous to the 76ers selecting him in the 2010 NBA draft, one would think that his talent is there, but the seal is still locked.

Whether it’s a lack of confidence or a failure to mesh with his teammates, the comments I’m hearing are getting tiresome. Earlier today, I eavesdropped on someone saying, “Evan Turner doesn’t know how to play basketball.”

Let’s get real. Maybe we need to be reminded about how talented this kid is. Here are a few videos of the painful and victorious journey the 76ers first round draft pick took, prior to leaving the Ohio State Buckeyes.
