Prospects for Philadelphia in the 2011 NBA Draft

Lithuanian prospect, Donatas Motiejunas

Last year, the Philadelphia 76ers unexpectedly snagged the second-overall draft pick and chose Ohio State point-forward, Evan Turner. With the NBA draft coming shortly after the end of the playoffs, the Sixers won’t be as fortunate this year.

With the 76ers finishing seventh in the east and up against the sizzling Miami Heat, most realists would tell you that the first round is Philly’s final destination of the 2010-11 season. There will be no lottery for Philadelphia this year. Today, on 610 WIP sports radio, Ed Stefanski told Glen Macnow and Anthony Gargano that he’ll be focusing on adding a big man to go along with Elton Brand during this offseason.

So, looking ahead, who do the Sixers have to choose from in the 2011 draft? Here is a list of players (video included) that are 6’10” and above, projected to be drafted in the first round, via nbadraft.net. If the Sixers keep their first overall draft pick, then expect one of these prospects to be in a Philadelphia uniform at the start of next season:
