Varnado “blessed” to play against his childhood idol

Varnado (left) is dribbling the ball up against Amar’e Stoudemire (right) who was his high school idol. It’s funny, because Varnado is a defensive role player and Stoudemire is an all-offense forward/center. Honestly, it’s a good thing that Varnado doesn’t try to play like his role model. He displays hustle and a knack for blocking shots. Anyways, the Sixers have had more than enough Amar’e wannabes, such as Marreese Speights and Arnett Moultrie.
